The Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE) held a focused Anti-Corruption in Humanitarian Aid Training at the Hilton Garden Inn in Kampala, Uganda.
The workshop convened activists, representatives from humanitarian initiatives, civil society organizations, and NGOs to strengthen collective action in promoting transparency, accountability, and ethical practices within Sudan’s humanitarian sector.
A total of 40 participants engaged in interactive sessions designed to build practical knowledge and tools to prevent, identify, and address corruption in aid delivery. The workshop centered on equipping frontline humanitarian actors with the frameworks and strategies needed to ensure that assistance reaches intended beneficiaries effectively and with integrity.
The training aimed to:
– Deepen understanding of corruption risks specific to humanitarian contexts.
– Introduce key international frameworks and operational tools for combating corruption.
– Emphasize protections for whistleblowers to foster safe reporting environments.
– Reinforce the “Do No Harm” principle to mitigate unintended consequences of interventions.
